I was involved in the renewal of the hotel “Riverside Arashiyama” in Arashiyama. Together with the owner, we have created a plan that will allow you to enjoy Arashiyama’s wonderful natural and historical attractions from our hotel. In this plan, we designed the outdoor space with the concepts of “an accommodation where you can live with your pet” and “a comfortable road bike trip” in mind.
While keeping the existing gate structure, the impression has completely changed by adding a wood grain lattice to the front, giving it a modern design! We made good use of existing materials and created a natural space that takes advantage of the natural atmosphere.

For the reception, we were able to propose a cohesive space by using flowerpots and garden furniture that we purchase directly from overseas manufacturers. The reception sofa uses outdoor furniture that can be kept clean at all times (=KETER Salta Lounge set)
Exterior design that reflects the concept of the inn
The exterior design is tailored to each user’s needs, such as a bicycle ramp and a foot washing area for dogs.
“Staying with your dog” When designing the outdoor space, use tiles that won’t slip even on dogs. There is a dog’s handprint in the foot washing area. The leash hook is also designed to be exciting for dog lovers.
It is designed so that you can bring your road bike and use it as a base in Arashiyama.
While the interior of the room is designed so that you can bring your road bike with you while you stay, we have adopted a slope design for our exterior that does not detract from the impression of the façade.There are footlights at night so that you can lead safely to the entrance.
